Program Development
The CHW Virtual Academy houses courses that are research-based, CHW-reviewed, and community tested. The dedicated professionals behind the CHW Virtual Academy follow the developmental procedure outlined below.

But courses aren’t ready to published on the CHW Virtual Academy immediately after creation. To make sure our courses meet expectations, they are then put through a 3 Phase Development Plan.
Phase 1: Course materials are created, reviewed, and edited by KDHRC researchers and experts.
Courses usually include educational videos, quizzes to test knowledge, and handouts/worksheets for CHWs to practice what they’ve learned in their own communities! These course materials are originally conceptualized and designed by KDHRC professionals before they are then sent into Phase 2.
Phase 2: Panels of expert CHWs evaluate and provide feedback to improve the quality of the course materials.
KDHRC recruits panels of experts to insure that all materials are as helpful to CHW Virtual Academy students as possible. Each course and all course materials are reviewed and evaluated by CHWs that work directly with represented populations.
Phase 3: Course materials are edited, reviewed, and released.
After working closely with the CHW panelists, KDHRC team members then change the course materials to reflect the suggestions from the experts. Once the course passes through all the checks in Phases 1-3, the course is released to the CHW Virtual Academy!
